Greetings everyone, Back in the late eighties and early nineties when I ran a couple of comic shops I used to hit the conventions in my area pretty heavy. Then I took a job overseas and I haven’t seriously looked at the convention schedule since. Now that I am trying my hand at writing rather than selling comics I want to start going to the conventions and showing off my work. So where to start, that is the question and I decided you fine folks are the ones to answer it. So, what conventions world wide are best for showing off your work? Which are better for artists and which are better for writers? Any advice will be welcome. Here is the schedule for 2006. www.comicbookconventions.com/conventions.htmMany thanks,

Good topic Trey, I'm not sure what cons are good on a world wide scale for showing off work. But the following are ones I tend to hear a lot about on various forums I frequent. The Big Apple Con,Dragon Con,Fan Expo Canada,Mega Con,Mid-Ohio Con, the Wizard World Circut,Comic Con International (I definetly recommend this one to writers and artist for opportunities to see international publishers and companies, I haven't been to it myself but I've heard it's BIG). The otheres mentioned are just as good too only being that they usually have U.S. based companies or publishers exclusively as well as the up and coming independent companies. Anyway, hope I was of some help and perhaps some of the other people here will chime in with their thoughts on the subject as well. Happy New Year, btw!!!

Thanks, I am considering the SDCC and maybe Bristol over in the UK as well as the closer ones in Dallas and Houston.
